Fender Jaguar or Jazzmaster

So...I'm considering buying a Fender Jaguar or Fender Jazzmaster.

Does anyone here have experience with either? I have the impression that there's not a whole lot of differences between the two, but I haven't compared the sound.

The Jaguar:

The Jazzmaster:

I have a Mustang...

Which I guess isn't that relevant.

Every time I see a Mustang guitar, all I can think of is Jag Stang

There are a lot more switches on the Jaguar.

More switches = More good

I do really dig the sound of the Jazzmaster...

Jaguar looks a bit sharper.

I'd like to try a Fender Bass VI, it's based on a Jaguar body.  I'm thinking played with a pick it might sound good for punk music.

So this is even better?

A lot of artists whose tone I like use both Jazzmasters and Jaguars, which makes it hard to tell which one I'd like most, tone wise. I guess I'll just have to play both...

So today I tried both out and they didn't really do it for me.  :ohok:

In the end I like the American Standard Tele the best. Hmmm.

So now this is the main contender:

It has "Texas Special™ Single-Coil Tele®" pickups (neck and bridge). Does anyone here have experience with those (does anyone here even play guitar anymore? :P)?

Acoustic, yes. I haven't stayed put in a city for more than 8 months in the last few years and I can't lug around an electric.

I'm actually in roughly the same shoes now that you've switched up styles. I might buy this badboy here soon.

I hope you didn't buy the jag (or if you did, i hope you it's better than mine). I've had my jag for 10 years (although it's CIJ 1997) and spent close to...£300 (327 euro, £392) on repairing the bridge, saddles, nut. For the longest time i didn't play it, i bought an epi SG + an English make offset guitar, replaced the tuners, saddles, P90s in and it was a beast, although I sold it after finally fixing my jag to where there's no buzzing or ringing.

Once it works, there's no guitar quite like it. When it doesn't work, there's no guitar quite like it.

I've heard good things about some other offset guitars, i was planning to buy one but I forgot the name/make! Budget guitar put good reviews and played real nice.
