Fender Jaguar or Jazzmaster

So...I'm considering buying a Fender Jaguar or Fender Jazzmaster.

Does anyone here have experience with either? I have the impression that there's not a whole lot of differences between the two, but I haven't compared the sound.

The Jaguar:

The Jazzmaster:

I have a Mustang...

Which I guess isn't that relevant.

Every time I see a Mustang guitar, all I can think of is Jag Stang

There are a lot more switches on the Jaguar.

More switches = More good

I do really dig the sound of the Jazzmaster...

Jaguar looks a bit sharper.

I'd like to try a Fender Bass VI, it's based on a Jaguar body.  I'm thinking played with a pick it might sound good for punk music.

So this is even better?

A lot of artists whose tone I like use both Jazzmasters and Jaguars, which makes it hard to tell which one I'd like most, tone wise. I guess I'll just have to play both...

So today I tried both out and they didn't really do it for me.  :ohok:

In the end I like the American Standard Tele the best. Hmmm.

So now this is the main contender:

It has "Texas Special™ Single-Coil Tele®" pickups (neck and bridge). Does anyone here have experience with those (does anyone here even play guitar anymore? :P)?

Acoustic, yes. I haven't stayed put in a city for more than 8 months in the last few years and I can't lug around an electric.

I'm actually in roughly the same shoes now that you've switched up styles. I might buy this badboy here soon.
